According to media reports, this feature will help WhatsApp users to identify fake, spam and calls coming through the Internet. The new feature will be available for video and audio calls on WhatsApp. Currently, Truecaller only allows users to identify calls received by their telecom service providers. The CEO of Truecaller said that the feature is currently in beta testing. This feature will be rolled out worldwide by the end of May. However, he has not given any confirmation or a definite date regarding the roll out of this feature. Number of telemarketing and spam calls on the rise According to Truecaller report, the number of telemarketing and spam calls continues to rise in India and other countries. Mobile users here receive an average of 17 spam calls every month. Earlier this year, the telecom regulator directed Airtel, Reliance Jio and Vodafone-Idea to block telemarketing calls using AI. Truecaller has said that it is in talks with telecom operators to launch such a service.
