Now Aadhaar card holders can change their address with the consent of the head of the family. Earlier one had to go through a long process to change the address on the Aadhaar card, but now this work will be done in a jiffy.
The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has said on Tuesday that now Aadhaar card holders can easily change their address. For this, the consent of the Head of Family (HoF) will be required, which is an official document of the Government of India. It can be easily made and you will be able to update the address without visiting any service center.
UIDAI released official statement
The agency has said in an official statement, “HoF-based address update has become very easy for Aadhaar card holders. That is, it will be easy to change the address of a child or other family member in such a situation, if he does not have the necessary documents.” People have to change their city or state due to various reasons, in such a situation updating details on Aadhaar card will now be a snap.
People above 18 years of age can make changes
The option to update address in Aadhaar card is being given to all citizens above 18 years of age. They can also do this for other members of their family and this can be done by visiting the UIDAI website. Citizens will have to pay Rs 50 to update their address. After making this payment, the Service Request Number (SRN) will be received through the message.
New aadhar card will be available after 30 days
The new Aadhaar card can be downloaded immediately after the application is approved for about 30 days. If the application is not approved by UIDAI, then it can be applied again with the correct documents. However, if there is no response within 30 days, the SRN will be closed.
