Mumbai: Mahanagar Gas has given great relief to the Mumbaikars whose budget has deteriorated due to inflation. The price of CNG will be reduced by Rs 2.50 per kg from midnight today. Mahanagar Gas has informed about this. Due to this, the drivers who are already struggling with inflation have got a big relief. These new rates will be announced from midnight today. CNG prices have been reduced in Mumbai and surrounding cities. That’s why now the price of one kg CNG will be less by two and a half rupees. It will be available from midnight today at the rate of Rs 87 per kg as per the new price. Mahanagar Gas has claimed that the price of CNG is 44 per cent cheaper than petrol.
Reduction in this rate will bring some relief
Mahanagar Gas Limited Company is distributor of CNG , PNG Gas in and around Mumbai. Therefore, from car drivers to rickshaw drivers, the reduction in the rate of CNG gas will be of great benefit. The rising price of CNG has spoiled the budget of many people. A reduction in this rate will bring some relief. Due to the increase in CNG prices, there is not much cost saving for the consumers by using CNG vehicles as compared to petrol-diesel. There was not much difference in the prices of CNG and petrol and diesel. This angered the customers.

Mahanagar Gas Limited had increased the prices of CNG gas in the month of November. The price of CNG was increased by Rs 3.50 per kg. After which the price of CNG in Mumbai has increased to Rs 89.50 per kg. So the domestic PNG rate was Rs 54 per scm.

Reduction in the use of CNG vehicle
According to a report, the use of CNG vehicles has decreased this year due to the increase in the prices of natural gas. CNG prices have increased by 70 per cent in the last one year due to increase in natural gas prices. Hence the difference in prices between diesel and CNG is very less and on an average the prices of both are similar. Hence the report said that the option of CNG vehicles is being avoided.
