Delhi: To compete with the green revolution of Tata Motors, Gautam Adani Group has taken a step towards green fuel. Adani Enterprises has entered into an agreement with Ashok Leyland and Canada’s Ballard Power for hydrogen-powered trucks, in which an agreement has been made to make hydrogen fuel cell electric trucks. Hydrogen fuel electric trucks will be made for the mining, logistics and transportation sectors.
Range will be 200 kilometers
The three companies are working together on a pilot project and are planning to launch this year in 2023. Adani Enterprises Limited on Wednesday tied up with Ashok Leyland to manufacture hydrogen fuel cell electric trucks. Ashok Leyland Vehicle Platform, a bus maker in India, will provide technical support. Gautam Adani plans to launch this mining truck in the year 2023 itself. According to a report, the hydrogen powered mining truck will weigh 55 tonnes and will have three hydrogen tanks. Will have a range of 200 kms equipped with Ballard’s 120 kW fuel cell technology.
