Delhi: Tata Group-owned Air India on Friday said it will cancel some local flights and reschedule some international flights this month due to airspace restrictions in Delhi. According to the airline, the airspace will be closed for about three hours every day for a week till the 74th Republic Day by the Air Force on account of Republic Day.
International traveling will be affected due to one hour delay
As far as international flights are concerned, Air India will either re-operate it with a delay of one hour or go ahead. Due to this, international long distance and short distance travel between five stations namely ultra-long haul, LHR (London), IAD (Dulles), EWR (Newark), KTM (Kathmandu) and BKK (Bangkok) is delayed by one hour. Reason will be affected. It was said in the statement that no international flight will be closed during this period.

According to the airline, in view of the Republic Day preparations by the Indian Air Force, like every year this year also the airspace will be restricted for about three hours daily for a week leading up to the 74th Republic Day. So that the Air Force can rehearse with their planes so that they can rehearse with their planes and helicopters within three hours daily for the Republic Day air show. According to the airline, Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) has been issued for morning hours from 19 to 24 January and 26 January.
