In fact, now the Sukhu government has increased VAT on diesel in the state. Due to this, the price of diesel in the state has now reached above Rs.86 instead of Rs.83 per litre. And according to the new notification, now diesel has become costlier by Rs 3.01 per litre.

Under this, a new notification has also been issued by the Governor revising the rates under VAT Act 2005. Also, this notification came into force with immediate effect on Saturday late night. Where till now diesel was available around Rs.83 in various areas of the state, now it will be available at Rs.86/litre.
VAT charged as such
In fact, now the Tax and Excise Department has increased the VAT on diesel from last Saturday night itself. In such a situation, now the VAT on diesel which was Rs 4.40 per liter has been increased to Rs 7.40. And in Shimla, diesel has now been priced at Rs 86.17 per liter from Rs 83.16 per litre.
It may be noted that cabinet expansion has taken place in Himachal Pradesh today itself. Today, i.e. on Sunday, December 8, CM Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu expanded his cabinet. In which 7 MLAs have been made ministers. This time Vikramaditya Singh, son of former state Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, has also been included in the cabinet.
