Shares of commercial vehicle maker SML Isuzu Limited (SML Isuzu) remained on the upper circuit on Monday. The company’s shares closed at Rs 810.50 with an upper circuit of 20%. This rally in the shares of SML Isuzu has come due to the excellent sales performance. SML Isuzu’s passenger vehicle sales have more than doubled to 570 units in December 2022. Passenger vehicles sales in December 2021 were 218 units.
Sales of passenger vehicles increased by 372% in the first nine months
On an annual basis, the total sales of SML Isuzu increased by 37% to 959 units in December 2022. Total sales in December 2021 were 701 units. In December 2022, sales of cargo vehicles decreased by 19% to 389 units. Sales of cargo vehicles stood at 483 units in the same period a year ago. In the first nine months (April-December) of the financial year 2022-23, the company’s total sales increased by 82% year-on-year to 8,549 units. While the sales of passenger vehicles increased by 372% to 5,417 units.
Shares have given 3500% return since inception
SML Isuzu shares have given a return of 3500% since inception. The company’s shares were trading at Rs 22.51 on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on 14 July 1995. The company’s shares have closed at Rs.810.50 on BSE on January 2, 2023. The 52-week high level of the company’s shares is Rs 887.80. At the same time, the 52-week low level of SML Isuzu shares is Rs 470.90. The company’s shares have given investors a return of close to 38% in the last 6 months.
