Delhi: Indian Railways is now going to be more superfast. 2.4 lakh crore rupees will be given to Indian Railways. Along with this, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has announced that 75000 new employees will be recruited in Indian Railways. Sitharaman presented the Union Budget 2023 in Parliament today. During this, he made big relief announcements.
75 thousand crores for new schemes
75 thousand crore rupees will be given for new schemes of railways. Nirmala Sitharaman also informed that Rs 75000 crore will be invested for transport infrastructure. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has announced Rs 2.4 lakh crore in the Union Budget 2023-24 for Railways, the highest in almost a decade and four times of last year’s budget. This is almost nine times of the budget presented in 2013-14.

The budget has given special attention to linking food grains and ports. 50 additional airports, helipads, water aerodromes will be renovated to boost regional connectivity. This budget will also focus on the operation of Vande Bharat Express trains, which can run at a maximum speed of 180 kilometers per hour. It may be mentioned that in the pre-budget meeting, the Railway Board had demanded 25-30 per cent more funds in the budget allocation of the Finance Ministry. Presenting the general and railway budget for the financial year 2022-23, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had announced the PM Gatishakti Master Plan. He had said that the Railways would also build a 100 speed Shakti cargo terminal. They will be built in the next three years. In the last budget, the Finance Minister had announced to develop transport infrastructure for railways, small farmers and small and medium enterprises.
