America In India, the air service was stalled for a long time on Wednesday. In fact, Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)’s Notice to Air Mission System suffered a technical fault, due to which flights but was banned. However, later the flight service was gradually restored. About 7,000 flights in and out of the US were delayed and more than 1,000 were canceled due to system glitches. The FAA said that there was a technical glitch on Tuesday night, while the White House said that there was no evidence of a cyber attack in the technical fault. The Federal Aviation Administration announced Wednesday morning that a technical glitch had occurred in its Notice to Air Mission system, or NOTAM, which alerts pilots and other personnel about airborne issues.
The FAA then ordered the airline to delay all domestic departures, but lifted the ground stop before 9 a.m. several hours later. The FAA said in a tweet that normal air traffic operations are slowly resuming across the United States following an overnight failure of the Notice to Air Missions system that provides safety information to flight crews. Ground stop has been removed. We are continuing to investigate the cause of the initial issue.
US President Joe Biden was briefed by Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg about the fault in the FAA system. White House press secretary Karin Jean-Pierre said in a tweet that there is currently no evidence of a cyberattack, but the president directed the DOT to conduct a full investigation into the cause. Transport Minister Buttigieg said he is in contact with the FAA and is monitoring the situation.
The FAA said it was not immediately clear what caused the disturbance. Two prominent Republican lawmakers in the House called for accountability and changes at the FAA in light of the system’s failure.
