In this book, Tendulkar has been described as the ‘God of Cricket’. In the book, former Indian cricketer MSK Prasad has mentioned the conversation he had with Tendulkar, Dravid, Ganguly and VVS Laxman during that Australia tour (1999-2000). Tendulkar was the captain of the Indian team on this tour. Prasad said that all three of his favorite players are Rahul Dravid, Sourav Ganguly and VVS Laxman. But the then Indian captain declared Laxman as his favorite player. According to Prasad, a former India selector, Tendulkar told Laxman, who always had a smile on his face, “If you show me your teeth without smiling, I will consider you my favorite player.” ALSO READ Laxman felt Tendulkar was making fun of him but the Master Blaster cited the reason behind picking him as his favorite player over Dravid and Ganguly. Tendulkar said, “You are very rich in talent. You can see the ball a second before me. God has given you extraordinary talent which you are not able to understand. Tendulkar said, “My batting is in four gears (phases) ‘defense, push, drive and loft’. I try to understand the conditions and play accordingly. But you have so much talent that you can bat directly in fourth gear. You see the ball quickly and don’t worry too much about the conditions. He said, “In such a situation, sometimes you succeed and sometimes you fail. The day you understand the first three gears, you will become a great player of the game. The book will be released on Tendulkar’s 50th birthday on Monday.
