The first match of this World Cup will be between the ICC ODI World Cup, 2019 winner and the defending champion of the upcoming World Cup, England and the 2019 runner up New Zealand. The final match of the ODI World Cup will be played on 19 November at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. 10 teams are participating in this tournament, in which India, who is hosting, has got a natural entry. 7 countries have confirmed their places through the World Cup Super League. The remaining 2 teams will be the two finalist teams to reach the finals of the ongoing ICC ODI World Cup 2023 Qualifire Round Tournament in Zimbabwe.
