ODI World Cup 2023 | Oman’s second consecutive victory in ODI World Cup’s Qualifire Round Tournament, UAE given big defeat



Oman defeated UAE by 5 wickets in the eighth match of the ICC ODI World Cup Qualifier Round Tournament being played in Zimbabwe. This is Oman’s second consecutive win in this tournament. Oman won the toss and put UAE to bat in their match played at Bulawayo Athletic Club, Bulawayo, Zimbabwe on Wednesday, 21 June. Batting first, UAE scored 227 for 8 in 50 overs and gave Oman a target of 228 runs to win. From UAE, Ayan Khan played the biggest unbeaten innings of 58 runs in 52 balls with the help of 10 fours for his team. Read this too Oman’s team came in the field to chase the target of 228 runs in 50 overs to win, they won the target with 24 balls and 5 wickets remaining. Significantly, this was the second match of both the countries in this tournament. On June 19, Oman defeated Ireland by 5 wickets. And, it was UAE’s second consecutive defeat, having beaten Sri Lanka by a huge margin of 175 runs in the first match. Oman batsman Shoaib Khan, who remained unbeaten in the half-century innings, was awarded the Player of the Match for his outstanding performance in the UAE vs Oman match.
