New Delhi: Sri Lankan veteran player Lahiru Thirimanne Retires has announced his retirement from international cricket. He has surprised his fans by sharing a post on social media. Lahiru Thirimanne had not found a place in the team for a long time. He played the last match in March 2022. After which he did not get a chance to play. He has so far scored 4 centuries in ODI cricket. While he has scored 3 centuries in Tests. Lahiru Thirimanne wrote in his Instagram post, “It is a matter of pride for me to play for the country. Thank you for the beautiful memories I have had over the last 13 years. Thank you for your well wishes during my journey. Now we will meet at the next stop. Career of Lahiru Thirimanne Talking about his career, Lahiru Thirimanne has played 44 Test matches for Sri Lanka. During this he scored 2088 runs. This includes three centuries and 10 half-centuries. His best Test score is 155 not out. He has played 127 ODIs so far. In which 3194 runs have been scored. Thirimanne has scored 4 centuries and 21 half-centuries in ODIs. He has scored the most unbeaten 139 runs in ODIs. Lahiru has played 26 T20 International matches for the country in his career. In which 291 runs have been scored.
