IPL 2023 | IPL final to be held in Ahmedabad on May 28, first qualifier and eliminator in Chennai



New Delhi: The Indian Premier League (IPL) final will be played on May 28 in Ahmedabad, which will also host the second qualifier, while the first qualifier and eliminator will be held in Chennai. The Board of Cricket in India (BCCI) on Friday announced the date and venue of the IPL playoff matches. Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium will host the second qualifier and final of the world’s biggest T20 league on May 26 and 28 respectively. The first qualifier and eliminator will be played on May 23 and 24 respectively at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. It is also the home ground of Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings. Also read It is believed that this is Dhoni’s last IPL. Looking at the current performance of Chennai, Dhoni can play the last match in front of home crowd on 23rd or 24th May. The 16th season of the IPL started on 31 March at the Narendra Modi Stadium, the world’s largest cricket ground. The venue also hosted the final in 2022. Last season IPL matches were played at four venues in Mumbai and Pune but the play-offs and finals were held in Kolkata and Ahmedabad. This time the last match of the league stage will be played between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Gujarat Titans on 21st May in Bengaluru.
