ICC Test Ranking | 3 Australia players in top 3 positions in ICC Test Rankings after thumping win in WTC Final, India has just one player in top 10



PTI Photo – Vinay Kumar Travis Head’s brilliant century in the WTC 2023 Final has made him sit at the third position in the ICC World Test Rankings. Marnus Labuschagne has jumped to the top and batsman Steve Smith has come at the second position. Significantly, in the AUS vs IND WTC Final 2023 at The Oval ground, Travis India’s head performed brilliantly. He played an excellent inning of 163 runs in just 174 balls in the first innings against India. During this, he got good support from Steve Smith, who scored his 9th century in the history of Test cricket against India. Steve Smith scored 121 off 168 balls as Australia posted 469 in their first innings. In Australia’s second innings, Travis Head and Steve Smith could not do very well. But, Marnus Labushen played an inning of 41 runs. In this innings, Australia scored 270 runs losing 8 wickets and gave India a target of 444 runs to win. However, India fell far short of this target and lost badly. ALSO READ Travis Head named Player of the Match for his outstanding performance. Marnus Labuschagne continued to top the ICC World Rankings with 903 rating points. With 885 points, Steve Smith jumped a place in the rankings after playing the WTC final against India. Travis Head is at the third position with just less than 1 point, i.e. 884 rating points. Only one Indian player’s name is in the top ten in the World Test rankings. And, that player is Rishabh Pant.
