In India, this day is celebrated on the occasion of the birthday of Dr. Verghese Kurien, who is also known as the father of White Revolution in India. He is also known as ‘Milk Man’. The goal of celebrating Milk Day was to educate people about its benefits and importance, as well as how milk benefits local economies and communities. This day is celebrated every year only to increase public awareness about it. According to FAO, about six billion people consume dairy products. Not only this, dairy business helps in running the livelihood of more than one billion people.
