Washington: America is moving towards issuing more than one million visas to Indians this year. A senior official for South Asia in the Biden administration said this. He assured that the Biden administration will complete the student visa process this summer for all Indians whose schools are set to start in September. Donald Lu, Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs, told PTI this week that they are also giving priority to work visas. Significantly, there is a lot of demand for H-1B and L visas among IT professionals in India. The H-1B visa is a non-immigrant visa that allows US companies to recruit foreign workers in specialized specialties.
