A representative of her family confirmed to television station WFAA that Aishwarya was among the victims of the violence. According to a friend of the victim’s father, Aishwarya had spoken to her family before the incident on Saturday and calls from her family after the shooting incident went unanswered. Aishwarya’s father’s friend said, “The family got the news of the death on Sunday. They are in shock. They have been told that efforts are being made (to send) Aishwarya’s body by Wednesday.” According to ‘New York Post’, Aishwarya’s family is preparing to bring her body to India. The Indian Consulate in Houston said it was in touch with the family of the deceased as well as the local authorities. It tweeted on Monday, “We express our deepest condolences to the family of Aishwarya Thatikonta, who was killed in the tragic shooting incident on May 6 in Allen, Texas. We are in touch with the family of the deceased as well as the local authorities. Our officers are available to provide all possible help.
