President Murmu In Serbia | President Murmu meets Serbian President, discusses bilateral relations
Belgrade. President Draupadi Murmu held talks with Serbian President Aleksandar Vukic here on Thursday and said that bilateral relations are based on mutual trust, mutual understanding and mutual support on issues of mutual interest. Murmu, the first Indian President to visit Serbia, said, “We are committed to embodying more aspirations in this important relationship.” The two Presidents discussed important aspects of the India-Serbia bilateral relationship as well as global and regional issues of common interest in the delegation-level talks. Murmu said, “We resolved to further promote our long-standing bilateral ties, especially in trade and investment, science and technology including information and digital technologies, and people-to-people contacts. We agreed to strengthen our coordination and cooperation at the United Nations and other multilateral fora. The President said that he was delighted to be in Serbia on his first state visit to a European country. He thanked President Vukic and the people of Serbia for their warm welcome. They recalled the visit of President Vukic to India in 2017 as the then Serbian Prime Minister and said that his visit set the stage for further expansion of our bilateral relations.
