Addressing the Indian community in the Serbian capital, President Murmu also said that new infrastructure is being developed rapidly across India and the country is expected to become a developed nation by 2047. Soon after arriving here on a state visit, he said, “India is the fastest growing major economy in the world. With a GDP close to USD 3.5 trillion, we are on track to become the third largest economy in the world before the end of this decade. He also appreciated the sporting ties between the two countries and said that tennis player Novak Djokovic is seen as a role model and inspiration for millions in India. He said, “Many sports coaches from Serbia are helping Indian athletes and sportspersons in improving their skills. We are overwhelmed by your appreciation and love for India. Earlier in the day, President Murmu, who arrived here from Suriname, was received at the airport by her Serbian counterpart Aleksandar Vucic. This is the first visit of an Indian President to Serbia.
