Jaishankar, National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval were also present. PM Modi thanked Joe Biden and Jill Biden for the welcome. He has called it the honor and pride of 140 crore countrymen of India. People of the Indian community are increasing the pride of India, Prime Minister Modi said, “Today, the 140 crore countrymen of India are honored and proud in a way by the grand welcome ceremony at the White House. This honor is also an honor for the more than 4 million Indian people living in America. Referring to the people of the Indian-American community in his address, PM Modi said, “After becoming the PM, I have been to the White House many times. This is the first time the doors of the White House have been opened to the Indian-American community in such a large number.” He said, “People of the Indian community are increasing the glory of India in America with their talent. I am sure our interactions will be positive as always.” America-India relationship is one of the most important relations of the 21st century. Earlier, US President Joe Biden said, “Welcome back Prime Minister. I have always believed that this relationship between the United States and India is one of the most important relationships of the 21st century. The first words of our Constitution are that we, the citizens of the country, have an enduring relationship between our peoples and shared values and our shared responsibility as global leaders to deal with the issues of the present.” With your cooperation, we have strengthened the QUAD for a free, open, secure and prosperous Indo-Pacific.
