Photo: Modi (Twitter) Sydney. Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Sydney, Australia on Monday (May 22) after concluding his visit to Papua New Guinea. Here he was received by Australian High Commissioner to India Barry O’Farrell. Also, the people of the Indian community here welcomed him. On this occasion, he also raised slogans of ‘Vande Mataram’. This is the third and last stop of PM Modi’s three-nation tour that started from Japan. He will be on a visit to Australia from 22 to 24 May. He will also participate in a community event organized by the Indian community in Australia in Sydney. Now going to Australia to participate in various programs in Sydney. The PM said, “My visit to Papua New Guinea was historic. I will greatly cherish the affection I have received from the people of this wonderful nation. I also had the opportunity to interact with respected leaders of FIPIC and discuss ways to deepen ties with their respective countries.” Modi held talks with his Papua New Guinean counterpart James Marape and reviewed their bilateral relations. They also discussed ways to enhance cooperation in areas such as commerce, technology, health care and climate change. The two leaders co-hosted the Forum for Indo-Pacific Islands Cooperation (FIPIC) summit on Monday to boost regional cooperation. (with agency inputs)
