Pakistan | Attack on security post in Pakistan, four people died; many others injured
Representational image Miran Shah (Pakistan). A security post in northwestern Pakistan was targeted by a suicide bomber on Wednesday, killing two soldiers, a policeman and a civilian. Giving this information, security officials said that this is the second such incident in the last few days. The incident took place in North Waziristan, a district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province that borders Afghanistan and is a former stronghold of the militant Pakistani Taliban group. No one has claimed responsibility for the attack but suspicion is on the Pakistani Taliban. The TTP on Wednesday claimed responsibility for the previous day’s attack on an oil and gas plant in Hangu, a district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa bordering Afghanistan. Four security personnel and two security personnel were killed in the attack on the facility operated by MOL Pakistan Oil and Gas, a multinational European company. (agency)
