According to sources, the polyclinic administration had directed NAB to submit a written request, following which NAB formally requested a medical test for Imran Khan as per procedure. PTI tweeted on its official Twitter handle, “He has badly pushed the injured Imran Khan. People of Pakistan, this is the time to save our country. You won’t get another chance.” At the same time, Fawad Chaudhary shared visuals of PTI chairman’s arrest and he also asked the public to come out and protect the country. According to senior Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shireen Mazari, Imran Khan, who had arrived in Islamabad from Lahore, was undergoing a biometric process at the court when the rangers broke the glass window and killed the lawyers and Khan’s security staff. He (Khan) was arrested after beating him. TV footage showed Rangers taking Khan by the collar and putting him in a prisoner vehicle. An official of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) confirmed that, “Khan has been arrested in connection with a case of transfer to a real estate baron, Malik Riaz, and is being handed over to NAB.” They said Khan has been arrested in the Al-Qadir Trust case which pertains to the establishment of Al-Qadir University for Sufism in 2019 in Sohawa area of Jhelum district of Punjab. “The warrant for his (Khan’s) arrest was issued this morning and thereafter he was arrested,” he said. However, Khan’s arrest warrant shows that it was issued on May 1. The warrant states that Khan is accused of corruption and corrupt practices. (with agency inputs)
