Lahore: Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan reached his residence here in the early hours of Saturday following a prolonged standoff with authorities in Islamabad. Despite getting bail in many cases, he had to stay in the court premises due to security arrangements. The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Friday granted Khan protective bail for two weeks in a corruption case and restrained him from arrest in any case registered anywhere in the country till Monday. Three different benches of the IHC granted relief to the 70-year-old chief of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), who was taken to the court amid tight security. He came out of the court premises after a long standoff with the officials. A large number of PTI workers welcomed Khan when he reached his residence at Zaman Park here. They also raised slogans in favor of Khan and against the ruling PML-N-led coalition. PTI released a video of Khan entering the house where his sisters and other family members are seen welcoming him and asking about his well-being. Khan, who is adamant on demanding general elections, is facing more than 120 cases across the country.(Agency)
