New Delhi. According to the big news received from America, former President Donald Trump has been held responsible for the sexual exploitation of magazine writer E Jean Carroll. If news agency AFP is to be believed on the matter, Trump will have to pay Rs 41 crore ($5 million) as compensation to Carroll. The verdict has been pronounced in the Federal Courtroom of New York. At the same time, a 9-member jury on the case considered Trump responsible for sexually assaulting Carroll and defaming him. However, the jury dismissed the rape charge against Trump. In fact, magazine writer Jean Carroll alleged in 2019 that Trump raped her in 1996 at a department store in Manhattan. Trump denied these allegations outright. He said he did not know Carroll and had never met her at the store. He had said that Carroll was making up a false story to sell his book. The trial in this case started on 25 April. Two women testified against Trump during the trial. Significantly, a few days ago, Trump was accused of sexual harassment by another woman. Jessica Leeds, 81, testified before a jury in New York that Trump had sexually assaulted her on a plane in the late 1970s. In fact, Leeds gave this testimony during the hearing of the lawsuit filed against Trump on behalf of the said magazine writer E. Jean Carroll on charges of sexual harassment. Although so far Trump himself has consistently denied the allegations of sexual harassment and sexual misconduct leveled against him by different women. He claims that these allegations are politically motivated and a conspiracy to tarnish his image so that he could not join the race for the White House.
