AP/PTI Photo Denver. Nine people were injured in a shooting outside the ball arena in the US city of Denver on Tuesday. Out of which the condition of three is said to be serious. Police have taken a suspect into custody in this case. The shooting occurred about a mile (1.6 kilometers) from the ball arena, according to police. On Monday, the Denver Nuggets defeated the Miami Heat. Basketball fans then took to the streets of the city to celebrate the Nuggets’ first NBA (National Basketball Association) title win. Meanwhile, there was a sudden firing at 12:30 pm. Update: It appears this gunshot victim was actually shot in the 2000 Block of Market St., self-transported to the hospital, and was not injured as a result of the shots fired at 17th St./Blake St. — Denver (Nuggets) Police Dept. It appears that several shots were fired during a dispute involving several people in the 2000 block of Market Street. The suspect was also shot in this shootout. Police is investigating further. The incident is one of 290 mass shootings recorded in the US so far this year, according to the Gun Violence Archive (a non-governmental group).
