China | Mountain collapse in China kills 14, five missing



Beijing. At least 14 people were killed and five others are missing after a mountain collapsed in China’s Sichuan province on Sunday. Local officials gave this information. The incident took place at around 6 am in Leshan city of Sichuan province. A large team of rescue workers was rushed to the spot as soon as the authorities received information about the landslide. A senior official of China’s Public Relations Department said, “The mountain collapse incident is from Leshan city. So far 14 people have died while five others are missing. Rescue operations are on.” According to the news of China’s official news agency Xinhua, a team of 180 rescuers is searching for the missing people. (agency)
