Rooftop Solar | Rooftop solar capacity grew by 6.35% in January-March: Mercom India



File Photo Delhi: The capacity of rooftop solar plants in the country increased by 6.35% to 485 MW in the January-March quarter this year. Mercom India gave this information. The research company related to green energy said on Friday that in the January-March quarter of the year 2022, the capacity of rooftop solar plants installed in the country was 456 MW. Rooftop solar capacity increased by 0.4% Mercom India said that the rooftop solar capacity increased by 0.4% on a quarterly basis. According to the Mercom India Rooftop Solar Market Report – Q1 2023, residential consumers added about 58 per cent capacity during this period, while industrial and commercial consumers accounted for 28 per cent and 14 per cent, respectively. Raj Prabhu, CEO of Mercom Capital Group, said, “The cost of solar capacity is falling, while electricity rates are rising. This is making the solar economy attractive to consumers.
