Market | Rupee gains 15 paise at 81.65 per dollar in early trade
Mumbai: The rupee gained 15 paise to 81.65 against the US dollar in early trade on Thursday amid a weak trend in the American currency in global markets. Forex dealers said foreign fund inflows and crude prices falling below $75 per barrel supported the local currency. At the interbank forex market, the rupee advanced further to 81.65 against the US dollar after opening strong at 81.68 against the US dollar. This is an increase of 15 paise over the previous closing level. Also read The rupee had closed at 81.80 per dollar on Wednesday. Meanwhile, the dollar index, which gauges the US currency against a basket of six currencies, declined 0.24 per cent to 101.09. (agency)
