Food Delivery | There will be tough competition from Swiggy and Zomato, users will get cheap food through ONDC platform, know how?
File Photo Delhi: Apps like Swiggy, Zomato may face tough competition from the central government-backed ‘Open Network for Digital Commerce’ or ‘ONDC’, a digital platform. The food or goods ordered through this system are available to the customers at a cheaper cost. ‘ONDC’ has been created by ‘Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade’ i.e. ‘DPIIT’. Food aggregators like ‘Swiggy’ and ‘Zomato’ charge 25 to 30% commission on orders placed by restaurateurs or hoteliers. However, only three to five 3 to 5 % commission will be taken from ‘ONDC’. How to order? The ‘ONDC’ app is not available. One can use their partner’s app to order from it. ‘Paytm’ and ‘MagicPin’ apps can be used to order food at ONDC. Apart from this, orders can be made from ‘mystore’, ‘buyer’ and ‘phonepe’. How to order from Paytm? First open the Paytm app. At the bottom of the home page, you will see an option named Order Food and Grocery. You can order by clicking there. Apart from this, on directly searching the option of ONDC, the option of Food and Grocery will appear. On clicking on it, the list of hotels and food will start appearing. How to order with Magicpin? Apart from Paytm, food can also be ordered through Magicpin. After downloading the Magicpin’s app, select the Food option. After that demand can be registered and payment can be made. Order will be tracked Like other food delivery apps currently available, orders placed through ‘Magicpin’ or ‘Paytm’ can be tracked. Also read How much difference will the price make? Pizza ordered through ‘ONDC’ platform in Delhi gets home delivery for Rs 209. However, the same pizza was available from ‘Swiggy’ for Rs 266. This means there is a saving of 27% on placing the order through ONDC.
