File Photo Delhi: Tata Group-owned airline Air India (AI) will recruit over 1,000 pilots to enhance its fleet and network. Apart from senior pilots, trainees will be included in these. Air India has ordered 470 aircraft from Boeing and Airbus. These include large size aircraft as well. The company currently has more than 1,800 pilots with more than 500 aircraft in its fleet. Airbus’ order includes 210 A320/321neo/XLR and 40 A350-900/1000 aircraft. The airline has ordered 190 737-Max, 20 787s and 10 777 aircraft from Boeing. Tata Group acquired Air India in January 2022. According to an advertisement put out by Air India on Thursday, the airline is now recruiting over 1,000 pilots. The company said more than 500 aircraft are joining its fleet. Air India had on April 17 introduced a new pay structure for its pilots and crew members.
