The Narcotics Control Bureau has been investigating the drug case following the suicide of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput for the last two years and has now filed a case against Riya Chakraborty, the alleged girlfriend of the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput, her brother Shauvik and others. In the entire investigation, the NCB has named Riya Chakraborty, her brother Shauvik and others as the main accused in the case for buying and supplying drugs to Sushant.
According to Special Public Prosecutor Atul Sarpande, all the accused have been charged on the chargesheet. While filing the draft chargesheet, he said, “Actress Riya Chakraborty and her brother Shauvik had used drugs and bought them for Sushant Singh Rajput.” He further added that the court would have fixed the charges against all the accused, but some of them could not do so as they had filed acquittal applications.

The court, meanwhile, said the charges against some of the accused could not be finalized till a decision is taken on the acquittal application. Riya Chakraborty and her brother Shauvik Chakraborty appeared in court for the hearing on Wednesday. Special Judge VG Raghuvanshi will now hear the case on July 12.
Riya Chakraborty was arrested in September 2020 in a drug case that came to light after Sushant Singh Rajput’s suicide. After nearly a month in jail, Riya’s bail application was granted by the Mumbai High Court. Sushant Singh Rajput committed suicide on June 14, 2020 by hanging himself at his residence in Mumbai. It has been 2 years since this case. However, the NCB is still investigating.
