IPL 2022 Delhi Capitals beat Punjab Kings set back for RCB for play off mhsd

Navi Mumbai, May 16: Shardul Thakur’s superb bowling helped Delhi Capitals beat Punjab Kings by 17 runs. Chasing Delhi’s 160-run target, Punjab lost nine wickets in 20 overs to score 142 runs. From Delhi, Shardul Thakur took 4 wickets for 36 runs in 4 overs. This is Shardul’s best performance in the IPL. Apart from Shardul, Akshar Patel-Kuldeep Yadav got 2-2 and Enrich Norkia got 1 wicket. Jitesh Sharma top-scored for Punjab with 44 runs. Punjab skipper Mayank Agarwal won the toss and elected to bowl first, after which Delhi scored 159/7 in 20 overs. Mitchell Marsh scored 63, Sarfaraz Khan 32 and Lalit Yadav 24 runs. From Punjab, Livingstone and Arshdeep took 3-3 wickets, while Rabada took one wicket. The victory has further boosted Delhi’s hopes of reaching the IPL play-offs, while on the other hand, it has created a major hurdle in the way of RCB play-offs along with Punjab. The Delhi team has reached the fourth position in the points table. Delhi have won 7 of 13 matches and lost 6 of them. RCB has won the same number of matches as Delhi, but Delhi’s net run rate is in plus and RCB’s is in minus.
