The Serum Institute is the first vaccine manufacturer in India to apply for Covishield approval as a booster dose. The SEC meeting will begin at 12 noon today. Meanwhile, the National Technical Advisory Group on Vaccination in India (NTAGI) recently held a meeting on the additional dose of Covid-19 vaccine in India, but no agreement was reached. Meanwhile, SII has started delivering Covishield vaccine since January this year and has crossed the one billion dose mark in the last week of November. So far, a total of 114.78 crore covidshield vaccines have been given in the country. India’s combined vaccination coverage crossed the Rs 131 crore mark on Thursday, the Union Health Ministry said. More than 67 lakh vaccine doses have been given till 7 pm on Thursday.
