Bangalore completed the challenge with 7 wickets in hand. Batting first, Delhi scored 164 for 5 in 20 overs and challenged Bangalore for 165 runs. Chasing this challenge, Bangalore won the match by completing the last ball. Bangalore scored 166 for 3 in 20 overs. Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal came down to open the innings to chase the 165-run challenge from Bangalore. But the beginning was bad. Enrich Norkie led both of them to the pavilion. Padikkal was out on the first ball in the first over. So, Virat came back with 4 runs. Shrikar Bharat then led the innings with AB de Villiers. De Villiers was caught for 26 in the 10th over as the pair settled on the field. But then, Glenn Maxwell gave India a strong lead. India and Maxwell both scored half-centuries. The duo shared a century to lead Bangalore to victory. Bangalore needed 6 runs off the last ball of the last over. But Avesh Khan, who was bowling this over, bowled wide. So the winning equation for Bangalore was 5 off 1 ball. Meanwhile, Shrikar Bharat hit a six and sealed Bangalore’s victory. Shrikar Bharat remained unbeaten on 78 off 52 balls with three fours and four sixes. Maxwell hit an unbeaten 51 off 33 balls with eight fours.
Shikhar-Shaw’s energetic opener
In the match against Bangalore, Bangalore won the toss and elected to bowl first. So the Delhi Capitals came down to bat first. Prithvi Shaw and Shikhar Dhawan started the innings from Delhi. Both of them gave a strong start to Delhi. However, their half-centuries were short-lived. The duo opened the innings with 88 runs. Their pair were bowled out for 43 in the 11th over against Hershel Patel.
He was followed by Shaw who was caught by Yujvendra Chahal in the 12th over for 48 runs. In the next over, Rishabh Pant was dismissed for 10 by Daniel Christian. After this, Shimron Heitmeyer and Shreyas Iyer took charge of Delhi’s innings. But Shreyas was dismissed for 18 by Mohammad Siraj in the 18th over. Shimron Heitmeyer was dismissed for 29 off the last ball of the innings against Siraj. So Delhi could score 164 runs for the loss of 5 wickets. Ripple Patel remained unbeaten on 7 runs.
