India had won a gold medal in the 1980 Moscow Olympics. After 41 years, India has won an Olympic hockey medal. Germany made an aggressive start in this match. In the second minute, Germany’s Urjan scored a field goal to take a 1-0 lead. India got a penalty corner in the 5th minute. But Rupinder Pal Singh failed to score.
