Satara, July 2: The number of covid patients in Satara has suddenly increased and the Collector has ordered a strict lockdown in the entire district from Saturday. Corona positivity rate in Satara has increased to include the fourth tier of the district. It is an alarm bell and it has been announced that a decision on lockdown is being taken immediately.

In the last 24 hours, 789 new cases have been reported in Satara district and 13 people have died. So far 1 lakh 94 thousand 640 people have been affected by corona in the district and 4666 people have died due to it. There are currently 7774 active patients in Satara district. Against this backdrop, strict lockdown will be implemented across the district. The second wave saw a steady increase in the number of corona patients in the three districts of western Maharashtra, which are connected to each other, Satara, Sangli and Kolhapur. Especially in April and May, the number of corona patients in these three districts had reached its ninth peak. After that, it was a picture of declining numbers. But now the number is rising again.

The fourth stage rules will apply

The fourth phase rule will now be implemented in Satara. During the five days from Monday to Friday, the shops will be open from 9 am to 2 pm. Orders have been issued to close the market completely on Saturday and Sunday. Collector Shekhar Singh has issued this order. Satara district is in the middle of Sangli and Pune districts. Therefore, a large number of citizens from both sides are coming to this place. As there are tourist places like Mahabaleshwar, Pachgani, Wai in Satara, there was a picture of crowds on the weekends. Now all this is going to be hampered by lockdown.
