Mumbai, February 23: Suryakumar Yadav has been selected in the Indian team (India vs England) for the T20 series against England, after which he has reacted. Surya admits he was disappointed not to be selected for the tour of Australia last year. Suryakumar also said that he thought he would be included in white ball cricket after his stellar performance in IPL 2020. Suryakumar Yadav is currently the best finisher in local cricket. In the 2019-2020 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, he scored 392 runs with a strike rate of 168 and an average of 113.
“I think this performance will make Surya my choice for the series against Sri Lanka and Australia,” he said. He has proved himself in the last few IPLs. Surya scored 512, 424 and 480 runs in the 2018, 2019 and 2020 IPL. Suryakumar also played a key role in helping Mumbai win the IPL for the fifth time. However, he was not selected for the tour of Australia. The Sun finally got a chance for a series of 5 T20 matches against England last week.
Speaking to India Today, Suryakumar Yadav said that it was difficult for him to accept not being selected in the Australia tour. “We used to go for a walk alone on the seas of Mumbai because we were not selected for the tour of Australia, but our appetite for running has not diminished,” he said.
When I joined the Mumbai Indians team, there were a lot of players sitting there. “You work very hard, just wait for the right time, you will definitely get the opportunity,” he said.
