Devotees who came to Pandharpur for Maghi Yatra have returned.

Pandharpur, February 22: The number of corona patients in the state is increasing rapidly. In the last 24 hours, 14,000 patients have been found in the country, out of which more than 7,000 patients are from Maharashtra alone. Against this backdrop, security has been tightened in the state. Many temples in the state are also being closed. It is learned that the Pandharpur temple is closed for 48 hours today and tomorrow. Before the Maghi Yatra, the Warakaris had stayed at the monastery in Pandharpur. However, the police administration has sent notices to the abbots if they allow Warakaris to stay in the monastery. As soon as the police inspected the monasteries, 34 to 40 thousand devotees have returned to their villages before the yatra. Due to this, Pandharpur is seen to be empty even before the Maghi Yatra. Deputy Divisional Police Officer Vikram Kadam has formed four squads to inspect the monasteries in Pandharpur city and taluka. These teams have inspected 257 monasteries on Saturday and Sunday. In this, 137 monasteries in the city and 120 monasteries in the rural areas have been inspected. There were a number of devotees in the monastery on Saturday during the inspection. However, after inspecting the monastery on Sunday, it was found that the number of devotees descending from the monastery has decreased. Police are also conducting surprise visits to the monastery. Due to this, the devotees of the monastery are insisting on returning to their village.

The Pandharpur border has been cordoned off. The names and mobile numbers of the vehicle owners coming to Pandharpur are being released. The mask is also being examined. Deputy Superintendent of Police Vikram Kadam informed that blockades were imposed at 28 places in the taluka and 8 places in the city.

On the other hand, the temple of Shri Sant Gajanan Maharaj at Shegaon has been closed for Shri’s darshan till further orders. The institute has taken this decision following the order of the government against the backdrop of Corona.
