The government facilitates, the private sector drives growth
Statement by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman
Bangalore: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman today said that the role of the government in the forthcoming Union Budget 2021-22 will be facilitated and the private sector will be the driving force behind the economy. Without private companies, we would miss out on great opportunities. An important factor in development is private companies. Sitharaman made the point in a talk session organized by the Bangalore Chamber of Industry and Commerce.
Sitharaman emphasized that the growing and necessary needs of the country cannot be met only by the state government and the central government. According to the finance minister, the corona virus vaccine is a great example of government-private partnership. “India now has a special touch on world leadership, which has brought everyone together, which is peaceful and the progress of the world is for the good of all,” he told the gathering.
The manner in which India has taken responsibility would have remained incomplete if the government had not played a significant role. Therefore, the government will play an important role in providing these facilities and the private sector will fulfill that responsibility. And that is the message from next year’s budget, he said.
