As a precautionary measure, a new strain of coronavirus found in the UK (New strain of coronavirus in UK) will be observed in the state for 15 days.

Mumbai, December 21: Citizens will have to exercise restraint for Christmas and New Year celebrations. Because after 11 pm, citizens will not be able to walk on the streets. Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has announced a night curfew in Maharashtra.

It has been decided to impose curfew in the municipal area from 11 pm to 6 am from tomorrow and it will remain in force till January 5. It was also decided to conduct institutional quarantine for all passengers from all over Europe and the Middle East for 14 days from the time they landed at the airport, as well as home quarantine for passengers from other countries. Due to this new virus of corona, more precautions are being taken in the state and we have to be more vigilant for the next 15 days, said Chief Minister Thackeray.

The meeting was held at Varsha’s residence. S. Chahal, Mumbai Police Commissioner Parambir Singh, Principal Secretary of Health Dr. Pradeep Vyas, Medical Education Secretary Sourav Vijay, State Task Force President Dr. Sanjay Oak, Member Dr. Shashank Joshi, Dr. Avinash Supe, Dr. Rahul Pandit, Chief Minister’s Pune Division Advisor Deepak Mhaisekar etc. were present on the occasion.

The new corona virus, which was found in Britain, is spreading rapidly and the danger of the virus will be known in the next few days, so the state is on high alert from today, the chief minister said. The Chief Minister directed to conduct a strict investigation of international passengers.

From today, 14 days institutional quarantine has been made mandatory for passengers arriving in Maharashtra from all European countries as well as Middle Eastern countries. Such passengers will be subjected to a corona test (RTPCR) on the fifth or seventh day after quarantine. They will be released home after completing their quarantine period. The Municipal Commissioners at the airports where international flights land should arrange hotels and independent hospitals for quarantining such passengers. The Chief Minister also directed to set up a separate hospital for passengers from Europe if they have symptoms of the new virus.

Passengers from other countries will be checked and stamped and quarantined. The Chief Minister also directed to provide PPE kits to all airport staff checking passengers from European countries, Middle East countries.

The Chief Minister said that those traveling from Europe and the Middle East should be informed if they have flown within the country. The chief minister said a meeting of all the district collectors and municipal commissioners would be held in the UK to take extra care in the wake of the discovery of a new strain of the corona virus. The Chief Minister also said that strict adherence to Corona rules is required in marriage ceremonies taking place in the state.
