IND vs AUS: Gavaskar’s big statement on Ajinkya Rahane’s captaincy … | News

Ajinkya Rahane will lead the team in the three Tests between India and Australia (IND vs AUS). Sunil Gavaskar has made a big statement about his captaincy.

Mumbai, 14 December: The next three Tests are being discussed before the first Test between India and Australia (IND vs AUS). After the first Test, Team India captain Virat Kohli will return to India on paternity leave as he will have a child. The BCCI has also given permission to Virat.

In the absence of Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane will lead India in the rest of the series. Many have speculated that the pressure to lead the team to a prestigious series against Australia will be on a seasonal captain. India’s great cricketer and former captain Sunil Gavaskar was also asked the same question. Gavaskar has made an important statement on this.

What did Gavaskar say?

“There will be no burden of captaincy on staying undefeated. He has already led India in two Tests. Under his leadership, India had won Tests against Australia in Dharamsala and against Afghanistan in Bangalore. So if you think of captaincy, there will be no pressure to stay. He knows you’re a seasoned captain. So he won’t think much of it. It is up to Rahane to do well as a player and as a batsman, ”said Gavaskar. Gavaskar was speaking on ‘Game Plan’ on ‘Star Sports’.

Ajinkya’s energetic start

The IPL did not go well for Mumbaikar to stay undefeated. He has made a good start to the Australia tour. In the absence of Virat Kohli, he led the team in both practice matches before the first Test. In his first practice match, he scored a century playing ‘Captain Knock’. Staying in Virat’s absence is likely to come in at number four in the rest of the Test series.

Who replaces Virat?

In place of Virat Kohli, Lokesh Rahul is leading for the remaining three Tests. This year has been good for Rahul. Rahul had scored well in the series against New Zealand earlier this year. The Orange Cap was the highest run scorer in the IPL.

Like Rahul, Rishabh Pant has an option in front of the team management. Pant, who did not do well in the IPL, scored a century in his second practice match. Pant has scored 103 not out off just 73 balls to show that he is ready to play Test cricket for India.
